About Us

OUR STORY

Welcome to Dynamite Homestead. We are Anthony (Tony) and Taylor Mlsna and we’re a small, veteran family-owned homestead in the rolling hills of driftless Vernon County, WI. Both of us come from families with long lines of land stewardship, from farming to habitat rehabilitation, we were raised with a love of animals and the nature they inhabit.

Things changed for us when Covid-19 was unveiled on the world and seemed to turn things upside down. We decided we wanted to take more of our food and health into our own hands. Digging deeper into our roots, we started paying attention to our environment more and learning as much as we could about gardening, herbalism, free range poultry, regenerative farming, food preservation, folk practices, and homemaking. The new appreciation and connection we found in being hands on with more of our food and our land was something that lit a fire in our hearts that we never realized was there. It connected us back to our ancestors and, after the birth of our daughter, gave new meaning to the importance of the future of this beautiful planet we call home.

Our name was a happy coincidence when name after name fell through and we decided on a random label. Little did we know it fit us all too well. Tony is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and Infantry Assaultman with expertise in demolitions. After two tours in Afghanistan, he made his way back to his family farm in Wisconsin and met Taylor in 2016. Together, we wrote ‘T + T’ through the years, just like the dynamite in classic cartoons, coupled with Tony’s background in demolitions while serving, thus Dynamite Homestead was born.

OUR MISSION

We’re dedicated to bringing the best quality ingredients to your table, from a place that truly cares for the animals as the outstanding creatures that they are. We believe in seamlessly melding animals and the way they can cultivate the land, with a love for providing them with the best nutrition available to produce the highest quality we can. We’re here and we’re real, no BS. In a world that has fallen so out of touch with its roots, we want to be a place of peace in knowing where your food came from, handled with care.
